Happy Thanksgiving!
I am so thankful for all my clients, y’all are truly the best. Capturing your lives and love this year has been a true pleasure. Thank you!
Tripp | Birmingham Child Photographer
Remember sweet Tripp from his baptism mini-session? He’s growing and all-boy! We started the session with a few minutes at home and then hit a nearby park. I loved watching him explore the world and capturing his little personality.

We also got some family shots.

Boys: so sweet with their mommas and silly with their daddies!

James | Birmingham Child Photography
This is James.

I met up with him and his entourage at the Divinity School at Samford University. We jumped and ran our way around the nearby walkways and quads, to the delight of onlookers. Truly the politest of little guys, James was so excited to work with me. Whenever I said his name, he turned and said, “Yes, Miss Kristen?” Be still my heart!

Here is James doing his best Nick Saban:

Can you tell what he’s doing?

I offer 5×7 cards in linen or semi-gloss cardstock with envelopes for the bargain price of $30 per set of 25. To insure timely delivery, order by November 15th or within 7 days of your gallery going up for late autumn customers.

You can see all of the designs at this link. But these few will give you a feel for some of the possibilities.

Several of the designs will support either one large photo or four smaller ones (Avett, Bird, Hewson and Tweedy.) Sometimes the design needs to be dictated by the crop of the photo but colors and messages can be tweaked. Just let me know what you’d like via email!

The S Family | Birmingham Family Photographer
This is another family I met through Magic City Slingers, but we got to know each other better since our kids have been in preschool together. My Kate loved to look out for her oldest last year and still asks about her all the time. I am so glad I got a chance to shoot their sweet family.

The delightful Miss M:

Love this shot of L as he was walking towards the camera:

Sweet Baby E, who amazed me by looking at the camera so well!

Dad and Mom love on their littlest treasure.

Thanks for having me, S family!
The O Family | Birmingham Photography
The O family are sweet neighbors of ours. I’ve had fun getting to know them over the past year and am glad I was able to squeeze in their mini-session. Little Maya is doing the itsy-bitsy-spider for me in most of these shots.

Desmond | Birmingham Child Photographer
Meet Desmond. Isn’t that the best name? Hip and classy. I met Des as a newborn through my involvement with Magic City Slingers, the local chapter of Babywearing International. It’s a great resource for parents as you can try lots of different carriers to figure out what’s right for you. I enjoyed getting a chance to photograph him after watching him grow for so long. And the shoot was really exciting… scroll down to the bottom of the post for a good story.

This shoot was also memorable because it was the first one where I encountered the police. I encouraged Desmond to stand in a doorway. He tried the knob in typical two-year-old fashion. It was unlocked! We set off the alarm, bringing the police and owners. It was nerve-wracking but everyone was honestly thankful we discovered it and not someone with nefarious intentions.
The D Family | Birmingham Family Photography
This cool family won a session in an auction at Alma Latina benefiting the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama. We took some photos at their home and at the lake at the end of their street.

Andrew + Lindsay | Birmingham Wedding Photography
Here’s a sneak peak of Andrew and Lindsay’s wedding at Birmingham’s First Lutheran Church in Highland Park. The reception was held at the Avon Theater in nearby Lakeview.

Andrew and Lindsay’s wedding was simply joyous and I was so excited I got to be a part of it. Special thanks to Jessica Wright who came along to assist me.
Hard at Work!
This weekend I had my last wedding and portrait sessions of 2009… and then jumped right into a multi-day workshop. I am so excited to have a chance to preview recent work in the next days and week to come, and so appreciate your patience if you are dying to see some images for Christmas cards and gifts. I’m learning a lot and 2010 looks like it will be the best year ever for Kristen Stewart Photography!
